The Victorian Association of Photographic Societies is to hold its annual convention in Wangaratta from 3-5 June 2022. The Interclub Competition has categories for EDPI, Print and Audiovisual entries. In the past Benalla Camera Club has entered the EDPI and Print competitions.

See https://www.vaps.org.au/convention.html for details.

We are able to enter 15 images for the club in each category, with a maximum of two entries from any member. Our practice has been to allow at least one entry from each member who submits images, unless there are more than 15.

You will find all the rules for the competition on the “useful Information” page of the new website. Briefly the rules for EDPI images are the same as for our other competitions, while the prints are limited to a maximum size (including mount) of 40 x 50 cm.

In order to be able to submit the club entry by the deadline, we will need members to submit their entries via the “VAPS Interclub” competition on our new website by Wednesday 2 March, so that entries can be selected and entered. There is allowance for members to submit up to three EDPI images and two Print images. While only a maximum of two EDPI images from each member will be selected, an additional image will allow some latitude in putting together a harmonious group entry.

For the print competition, you will need to submit a digital copy of the image to the website, and only print and mount it if it is selected for entry.

The closing date for the club to enter EDPI and Print entries is 20 March

If you are not sure about printing, contact a member of the committee for guidance, There are a number of places that can print images, and “She’s Arty” on Bridge St has in the past been able to help out with mounting.

The deadline for this competition is quite firm, so it would be best to start selecting entries now. Any images you have made are eligible, regardless of whether or not you have used them in club competition. The only restriction is that you cannot enter something you have previously entered in a VAPS Interclub Competition.

Get going,

Mike O’Connor
