This year’s VAPS convention will take place at the Federation University, Berwick from 14-16 June.

A feature of the Convention is the annual VAPS Interclub Competition, in which clubs are invited to submit up to 15 entries in each of the EDI and Print competitions, with no more than two entries in each competition by any individual member.

The deadlines this year are quite short.  Entries need to be finalised before 24 March.

Members are invited to submit up to two entries for the EDI competition and up to two more for the Print competition. Submissions can be made to the Vaps Interclub Competition 2024 collection on the club’s website (in the same area where you would submit entries to regular club competitions). Both competitions are open until Midnight Sunday 10th March.

Those submitting print entries will need to arrange to print and mount their entries and submit them before 17 March to allow time for delivery or posting the prints.

If there are more than 15 entries in either competition, a selection panel within the club will select the images to be included in the clubs entries. The selection panel will ensure that the maximum number of members are included in the competition, and second entries will only be included if needed to make up the club’s entry to the maximum 15 images in each competition.  Past experience suggests that this problem will not arise with the print competition.

The requirements for the EDI competition are the same as for regular club competitions.

The requirements for Print images are set out in the “VAPS Interclub Competitions Information” document to be found in the “Useful Information” section of the clubs website, and at https://www.vaps.org.au/competitions/vaps-interclub-competitions.html

Note the requirement that mounted prints may be a maximum of 5mm thick including the backing.

Once the entries have been selected, the EDI images will be submitted online.

Print images will need to be delivered to VAPS by 24 March. Once the print images have been selected, members will be required to print and mount their images in line with the competition requirements.

So get to it and go through your best images for the past year and get them in.
